BIO

London based, Tollan Films is the creation of Anies Hassan.  Anies has been involved in the archaeological field since 1993 and has a BA in Archaeology and an MSc in Archaeological Science from The Institute of Archaeology, UCL. After graduating, Anies worked as a professional field archaeologist in Southern England as well as warmer and more exotic destinations, such as Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain, Turkey, Iceland, Peru and Belize.  He also worked for the United Nations in Bosnia and Croatia as part of an international team investigating war graves.

In 2008 Anies made a series of short videos whilst working for an innovative online archaeology outreach project called the
Prescot Dig.  Managed by L - P : Archaeology, this project was based on a large excavation in East London (which Anies helped to supervise) and went on to win the 2008 Ralph Merrifield Award for London Archaeology. Since then he decided to concentrate on making web videos on a freelance basis.
Since early 2009, Tollan Films has been busy making videos for both
L - P : Archaeology’s
Digital Video & Film Production Service and a community archaeology project called the Thames Discovery Programme.  Tollan Films has filmed screen tests for Videotext Communications and filmed and edited a behind-the-scene pilot for the Time Team Digital Network.  Most recently, Tollan Films has made videos for the Museum of London, Oxford Brookes Archaeology & Heritage, The Archaeology Channel and Time Team Digital and is in negotiations with several other clients including ARUP engineering and Past Preservers, working on their Media Training Course.
