The British Archaeology Awards 2010

The Thames Discovery Programme’s website (designed by Lorna Richardson and Andy Dufton) won the 2010 British Archaeology Award for “Best Representation of Archaeology in the Media”, which Tollan Films made the videos for. This is no mean feat as the website was up against Channel 4’s Time Team and Radio 4. The judges said: “Among the factors which informed the BAA Awards Panel’s decision to select [the] Thames Discovery Programme / website as the overall winner was its highly effective use of a wide range of social media tools; the excellent quality, immediacy and contribution to knowledge of the site’s video content...”
